Take a look at how Kappa Alpha Omega works, has fun, and serves the community of the Mississippi Delta, the South Eastern Region, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated!

As a service organization, we pour our hearts into giving back to the community—but we also recognize the importance of taking care of ourselves. Our chapter is proud to have hosted "Taking Care of Our Mental Health," an event designed for our senior members and those members who serve as caregivers.

Soaring in Sisterhood & Service Spring 2025

We were honored to participate in the incredible Community Baby Shower hosted by Plan A. This event was all about uplifting and supporting expectant mothers in our community, ensuring they have the resources, love, and knowledge they need on their journey into motherhood.

Our chapter proudly participated as a vendor, focusing on the critical topic of Black Maternal Mental Health and three other endeavors close to our hearts; Breast Cancer Awareness, Pink Goes Red for Heart Health, and Black Maternal Health. We shared valuable insights, resources, and conversations about the importance of wellness, support, and advocacy for Black mothers.

We had an amazing time coming together for our Annual Earth Day event, which celebrated Arbor Day. This year, we were thrilled to be joined by the incredible Epsilon Pi Chapter of Mississippi Valley State University and the inspiring Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) Cohorts, who helped us plant eight Lavender Lace Crape Myrtle Trees along US Hwy 82. Planting these 8 trees along US Hwy 82 will enhance its scenic charm and environmental value, contributing to a greener and more inviting community space for everyone! From planting trees to strengthening community bonds, it was a day filled with teamwork and love for our planet. A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers and participants who made this event so impactful! Together, we are taking strides towards a greener, healthier future!

Kappa Alpha Omega Chapter is honored to bring warmth, nourishment, and fellowship to our underserved and unsheltered neighbors.

We observed the Founders' Day of our beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. We celebrated 117 years of Sisterhood, service, and impact during our observance. This milestone, a testament to our unity and strength, would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community, stakeholders, and honorees. Our theme was "FROM VISION TO VICTORY: A SOARING LEGACY OF SISTERHOOD AND SERVICE."

We would like to recognize our phenomenal speaker, Dr. Sharon U. Slater, a member of the Rho Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, for her powerful message.

Celebrating the Heart of Kappa Alpha Omega!

Our March Chapter Meeting was the luckiest by far. We wore green and enjoyed our "We Are Lucky to Have YOU" theme! We are more than LUCKY to have each other and to be a part of such a wonderful Sisterhood!

Celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by giving back to our community in a meaningful way. We Packed 100 Care Kits for our unsheltered neighbors, filled with essential items to provide comfort and hope; unboxed, organized, and stocked over 1,000 canned goods for the Greenwood Interfaith Ministries Community Kitchen, helping to support those in need and moved our chapter's old storage to our new Storage Archive Repository, ensuring our history is preserved and accessible for future generations. The Youth Leadership Institute Cohorts and the Pearls Mentoring Group for Girls Leflore County Chapter joined us as we soared with service in our community!

Celebrating 117 years of service and sisterhood!

Congratulations to our newest Silver Sisters, celebrating 25 years of service to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.®! Your dedication, commitment, and contributions to our chapter and the sorority have not gone unnoticed, and it is our honor to celebrate this significant milestone with you.

Congratulations Sisters! Continue Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood®!
